Simple Sites for Start-Ups

Taking away the OVERWHELM of online…

You know you need a website, and if you have the time, you can build your own site. But what if you don’t know where to start? Or don’t have the time or the inclination to DIY? Don’t know what to say? Maybe you started a website but bogged down in the techie details - domain names, email connections, payment gateways, SEO, analytics - or you’re just not happy with the result.

I can help!

I’ll hold your hand as we walk through the basics from the beginning, starting with registering your domain name. We’ll consider your clients’ needs and wants, and design a site that attracts your customers and gives them the info they need. I’ll even help with choosing and editing content (words and pictures) to get your message across visually as well as verbally. I’ll take care of usability, accessibility, and all the techie details. And lastly I’ll show you how to pick up the reins and take your horse (your new website) where you want to go!

Problems solved… no more stress.

Why work with ME?

Simplicity

My guiding principle! I believe the process of designing an online home should be clearly laid out, transparent, and enjoyable. I like to keep things simple, beautiful and practical. And you need a straightforward guide through the complexities of getting online.

Cost effectiveness

Custom websites can cost thousands. Starting with a basic template I can keep things simple while still creating a site that is uniquely yours. I believe in keeping my prices sane, by providing everything you need and nothing you don’t.

No overwhelm

Handing the site build over to me frees you to do what you do best - creating products or providing services for your customers. I’ll make the process as straightforward as possible so you can get on with growing your business.

Enjoy a STRESS-FREE site build

You have my full attention.

Personalised service…

I work solo -no teams, no project managers, no passing the project to this section then that. I personally take your design from start to finish. When you contact Too Many Cats Web Design, you talk directly to the designer and business owner - me!

One project at a time…

When you work with me you get my full attention for your build, as yours is the only project on my plate. I book only one design at a time. This means I’m available for collaboration and my creative focus is all on showcasing your business.

Built to a timeframe…

Basic sites will usually take around 2 weeks, assuming you do your part and have your content ready. More complex sites may take a little longer, but no matter which build you choose the expected timeframe is clearly defined. No drawn out projects taking months and months!

Upfront pricing, no hidden extras.

Know exactly what you’re paying for…

I state clearly what I will provide, there’s no hidden catches. I’ll also send you a list of costs that aren’t included in my price so you know what to expect. These are things like hosting and legal fees, or extra work outside of my package inclusions.

Plain English contract…

So we’re clear on who does what and when, we’ll both sign a simple and concise contract. Any variations to my standard package or extra work we’ve agreed to will be included - that way there’s no nasty surprises!

Easy DIY updates and no expensive retainer fees.

DIY updates & maintenance…

I design exclusively on the Squarespace platform creating websites that are simple to update and maintain, and I’ll teach you how to do it. Squarespace makes it easy to take care of your own site - no need to pay a developer ongoing fees for maintenance. You can even make updates on the go with the Squarespace mobile app. Don’t saddle yourself with a website that requires you to re-hire your designer to make simple changes.

Communication and collaboration.

Clear communication…

When you pay your deposit to book your timeslot, I’ll email you a Client Welcome Pack which tells you everything you need to know about your build. It states what I need from you and when, and outlines the timetable of work. I’ll be in regular contact with you to discuss the progress on your site.

Collaboration & feedback…

Once I have a basic design underway I’ll invite you to view your site via a password protected link. This will allow you to give me feedback on the design direction and keep track of how the build is coming along.

“I am in tears. I absolutely love [my site]. It's such a breath of fresh air to have your perspective, I cannot get over how you've captured the heart of what I set out to do in the beginning. You included the story about my grandmother sewing. That is so special to me, and you saw that.”

 Who am I?

I’m a fifty-something heart-driven human from the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW. I have a passion for UX/UI (user experience and user interface) in website design, and I love to help middle-years & older women (the Boomerpreneurs!) conquer the technology divide and build their skills and creative drive into online businesses.

My philosophy of website design is that simplicity, usability and relevance is more important than following the latest design trends. And establishing trust through honesty and transparency. will, in the long run, result in a more successful business than using the latest marketing ploys to manipulate and coerce customers. With the current ubiquity of AI, people are looking for connection with real humans. Your website is the window to the soul of your business.
